Maya RIMA is currently a third-year PhD student in microbiology at the Laboratoire de Génie Chimique. She graduated from the Lebanese University – Faculty of Sciences with a Bachelor’s degree in Life and Earth Sciences followed by a 1st year Master’s degree in Plant biology and environment. She then completed the 2nd year of a Master’s degree in Applied Biotechnology from the Lebanese University – Faculty of public health. Her thesis, a collaborative project between the Lebanese University and the University of Toulouse, focuses on the valorization of seaweed extracts as antibiofilm agents against pathogenic bacteria and good candidates for the preventive and curative treatment of bacterial biofilms.
