Technology and innovation Manager


Simone Arizzi has responsibility for technology and innovation across the EMEA and the Asia Pacific regions. In this role, and working with the region and country organizations, he defines the critical competencies, talent development and R&D infrastructure needs for DuPont in the future. He works with the technology and business leaders to implement the overall innovation and sustainability strategy in these regions, cross-business initiatives, and open innovation partnerships with academia and start-ups. Leveraging his extensive experience with R&D and innovation management in a global organization he leads the worldwide network of DuPont Innovation Centers, where DuPont gains valuable market insights to generate new growth initiatives and influence the Company’s innovation and sustainability agenda. Based in Geneva, he is also the Managing Director of DuPont in Switzerland and President of DuPont Italiana. Until 2012 he led technology globally in DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions. In this role he was responsible for developing and implementing DuPont’s innovation strategy in this market, creating next-generation materials for PV applications to improve the efficiency, lifetime, and cost of PV cells and modules. From 2004 to 2007 he worked as Technology Manager in the Material Science & Engineering division of DuPont’s Central Research and Development, in Wilmington (USA). His main activities have been in the areas of alternative energies with a focus on fuel cells, new materials for photovoltaic applications, as well as renewably sourced materials for packaging applications. From 1996 to 2003 he held a variety of technology and business management positions in the Lycra® and Nylon Specialty Intermediates businesses in the US and Europe. He joined DuPont in 1991 in Geneva. He holds a chemical engineering degree from the ETH in Zürich, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from MIT.
