Cécile Barrère-Tricca, 49, is an engineer who graduated from the Ecole nationale supérieure de Chimie de Toulouse. She holds a graduate research degree in materials sciences from the Institut national Polytechnique de Toulouse and a PhD in the chemistry and physical chemistry of polymers from Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris 6). She joined IFP Energies nouvelles in 1998 as a research engineer in the Catalysis and Separation Division. In 2001, she became project manager in the field of flue gas treatment before taking on a similar role, in 2006, in the field of 2nd generation biofuels within the Process Design and Modeling Division. In 2008, she was appointed head of the Process Design Department within the Process Design and Modeling Division, then Head of the Chemical Engineering and Technology Department in 2010. She had been Director of the Physics and Analysis Division from 2014 to 2017. She has been appointed Site Director of IFPEN-Lyon in November 2017 and President of the cluster for the chemical and environmental sectors AXELERA since September 2019.
