Description

Lionel Muniglia is a lecturer within the French National Superior School of Agronomy and Food Industries (ENSAIA) where he focused his research on clean and environmentally friendly processes based on biocatalysis for the extraction and synthesis of biomolecules. In this context, he patented a green process of enzymatic biorefinery of plants leading to value agricultural co-products in a circular economy approach and created the company "BIOLIE, l'extraction au sens propre" in 2012. Today, he provides the scientific management of this company in parallel of his research work for the Laboratory of Biomolecules Engineering (LIBio) from Lorraine University. Oils, proteins, sugars, polyphenols can then be produced in a healthy and sustainable way to design active ingredients and natural dyes currently on the cosmetic and nutraceutical markets.
