Corbin studied aerospace engineering and economics at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, during which time he interned at a biofuel manufacturer and for an agricultural biotechnology startup. These experiences encouraged Corbin’s transition into chemical engineering, and supported his interest in the industrial fermentation space. He has since devoted much of the last decade to the pursuit of commercializing biotechnology. During his 6-year tenure at Amyris, he has held a number of roles supporting the company’s business objectives from identifying new markets and applications of Amyris’ core competency in fermentation to managing the company’s flavor, fragrance & cosmetic ingredients business. Most recently, he is responsible for Amyris’ strategic partnerships with industry collaborators in F&F, personal care and pharmaceuticals.
